Last weekend, we visited museums in Tokyo centered around tea and ceramics under the theme “History of World Human Culture.”
We spent meaningful time encountering the ancient bronze artifacts of the Nezu Museum, the collections of the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno, the Musée d’Orsay collection at the National Museum of Western Art, and finally the profound collections of the Matsuoka Museum of Art.
Even while enduring physical discomfort, our professor participated passionately alongside us, and the museum staff in Japan also offered words of encouragement.
After arriving back at Gimpo Airport, we were deeply moved by the realization that we had each grown, even if only by a small step.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Yoon Yong-i for offering insight and awakening, and to everyone who traveled with us. We now look forward to next year’s study tour to London and Istanbul.
