In the fullness of spring, Teahouse Hada presents an exhibition by ceramic artist Kim Young-tae of Gonmyeongyo in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do.
Beginning with Ido chawan, Kim Young-tae has continued the tradition of Korean ceramics through long contemplation and exploration of clay itself. His work goes beyond the making of vessels, embodying the essential beauty created by clay and fire, together with the spirituality and depth of time residing within them.
The exhibition Non-Action 無作爲: From the Wheel and Kiln reveals the vitality of ceramics harmonized with nature through powerful lines formed on the potter’s wheel and the free yet profound colors born within the kiln. The true essence of ceramics blooming from mujakwi (無作爲, non-artificiality) quietly emerges throughout the exhibition. We invite you to contemplate the “depth beyond form” before vessels condensed with the artist’s long-cultivated sensibility and philosophy.
